Miss Nora Faye arrived on October 12th at 6:02 pm weighing 7 lbs 12oz. Even though her delivery took some time, she arrived just as perfect and pink and squishy as could be. She had tons of family and friends there to greet her and love on her.
Madison had been in labor for a while, and around 7am they went to labor and delivery to see if the contractions were the real deal. By 8am they had admitted them into a labor room and she was dilated to 4cm, and she had already moved on to 5cm before they broke her water at 9am. It seemed like it would be a pretty quick day! Even the doctor said he expected Nora to arrive sometime around 2:30 or 3pm. Family anxiously waited in the room, offering ice chips and conversation, and the morning passed on smoothly. Madison was dilated to 10 cm around 3pm but Nora wasn't quite ready. Madison labored down for a while (allowing baby to move down without pushing) to save her strength for pushing and a little after 4 the pushing began. As with most first-babies, the pushing took a while but Madison was a champion and after almost two hours she was able to reach out her hand and hold Nora's while the doctor cut the umbilical cord.
Congratulations Buford Family! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your wonderful day!
