Katie and Alan were married on May 2nd, just a little over two weeks ago, at the gorgeous Barn at Twin Oaks Ranch. I love working with their team and seeing the florals and designs they create, so I was very excited to be asked to photograph the Beers weddings. It was a perfect day :) I asked Katie to send me a little info on how she and her husband met and about their vendors. Spoiler alert: Katie wrote some super kind things about me that I normally don't post anywhere, but since it was in her blog-info email I'm going to share it all! 

Katie and Alan met way back in January of 2011 at a bar... "A place I swore I would never find boyfriend material, much less my husband. Our first real interaction that night was arguing over whether the last name Beers was made up. It's not. So I get to take a last name I thought was made up :) "

They got engaged the day after Thanksgiving in 2013 and started wedding planning the following January. "I began doing research online about wedding venues, but the thought of coordinating all the pieces that go into weddings... I easily felt overwhelmed with the prospect of organizing and planning such an event. And then I found the Barn at Twin Oaks. I knew before I set foot on the property, just from looking at the photos and packages online, that this would be the best possible scenario. (I didn't even call another venue) And after meeting Leslie, I knew the ladies there would take care of me. She also helped us pick May 2, 2015, which turned out to be a fantastic day for a wedding. By December 2015 I still hadn't found a photographer and it was stressing me out. During my planning meeting with the barn I remembered Leslie saying, "What about Tryston?" She described you as a detail oriented person who takes beautiful shots and once I saw the other weddings you'd done at the barn, I was sold. The day Alan and I traveled to Russellville to meet you I was kind of nervous because I knew the photos would go better if our personalities clicked. It didn't take me long to understand I had nothing to fear. You were super knowledgeable, and when we actually got to do my bridals I got to see your artistry at work. The day of the wedding you were basically an awesome-ninja. Plus how well you knew the Barn.. Once I met you, I never once doubted whether I was in good hands."

Katie, thank you so much for being such a wonderful bride and for letting me be part of such an amazing day. I'm in love with all your photos and I hope you are too :) Your email made me a little emotional, and I actually laughed out loud when I read the ninja part. Thank you for sharing all of that with me! I'm so glad you had such an amazing experience with your easy-peasy wedding planning and a super smooth gorgeous wedding day.
