I asked Ashley to tell me a little about how she and Carl met and fell in love and I thought their story was precious. I'll let Ashley tell you in her own words :)

"Here's my story..
I worked as a nurse in a nursing home in Atkins, AR from 2009 up until right before the wedding. I worked with this one patient in particular whose mind wasn't what it used to be. She became very, very special to me. Everybody knew she was my favorite patient. She only had one son, David, but thought and believed that I was her daughter. I even called her mom and momma. When the other workers couldn't get her to cooperate with her daily activities, they'd either say "Do you want me to call Ashley?" or they'd physically have me come down to assist. She'd do as I asked with no trouble at all. She became very ill and started to go downhill towards the end of last year..

Carl's story..
Carl lives in Tuscaloosa, AL, but has a lot of family in AR. One of which was his great aunt from Morrilton, AR who always took to Carl and his sister as one of her own grandchildren. Whenever he was in Arkansas, he'd visit her like he would any other grandparent. Last Christmas, Carl got a call saying she wasn't doing well. So, without another thought, he left to visit her in the nursing home where she'd been for the past 3 years.

Carl and I met December 28, 2011 while he was visiting his great aunt (my favorite patient). Iva Jean Durbin passed away December 30, 2011 with her son holding her left hand, me holding the other, and Carl at the foot of the bed. We both very sincerely believe she brought us together. 

We made our relationship official January 6, became engaged May 2, and married October 27. We didn't date very long but like my mom always told me "When you find The One, you'll know right away."

Iva Jean's son, David, was also our best man because we couldn't think of anyone else more suiting."
 

Ashley and Carl were married on October 27th at the super gorgeous Subiaco Abbey in Subiaco, AR.

46 50 Carl and Ashley had napkins from their parents' weddings on display at the reception. I thought it was pretty and wanted a picture with all three napkins together :)
