These pictures are actually over a year old. The reason they haven't been posted yet (on the blog) is that they were top-secret until late this past summer when Lauren sent her save-the-dates out. Lauren and Matt wanted their engagement pictures to look similar to what her bridal portraits and wedding would be, so we did their engagements in November of 2011. Now, the reason they weren't posted the day the save-the-dates went out is that I was in the middle of wedding season and also a blog/website change and truly wasn't blogging anything because I was going to delete my old blog anyway. So for the last few weddings I have been posting the engagement sessions, bridals, and weddings all together in one post. I just recently discovered that readers would rather see each session promoted individually, so this is me playing catch-up :) Lauren's bridals are soon to follow (only two months old) and Lauren and Matt's beautiful Subiaco wedding in a few weeks. 

A little about the engagement session: Lauren told me Matt was goofy during her bridal consultation when she booked her wedding. I was still not prepared for the most energetic groom I've ever photographed. Every other picture was a goofy face, and honestly I loved it. Engagement sessions have a tendency to be awkward because generally guys don't like to be photographed and so it's very difficult to get them to act natural. Matt, in his natural state, is simply goofy. It made the session fun and our two hours flew by. We did the first part of the session at a Christmas tree farm and the second part out by Lauren's parents' house. I had the opportunity to meet Lauren's parents (who are super nice) and Lauren's dad even followed me around during the session to make sure I didn't fall down and die. I was 8 months pregnant at the time and very large and unbalanced, haha!

There are pictures at the end of this session with Walmart name tags. These were funny because from what I gathered the two lovebirds met at Walmart where Matt was actually Lauren's boss... and from there they fell in love, had a really long engagement, and got married and will live happily ever after :)
